Privacy Policy
PipScribe is designed for local transcription. This policy explains what remains on your computer, what may be sent to a service you choose, and what limited information may be handled for downloads, licensing, payments, and support.
Local transcription
When you use a downloaded Qwen3, Parakeet, or Whisper model, transcription and timestamp generation run on your computer. PipScribe does not upload the original media or local transcript to us for model training.
Files and project data
Imported media, prepared audio, transcripts, timestamps, speaker labels, subtitles, summaries generated by local models, and project settings are stored on your device unless you choose another location or service. Removing the application may not automatically remove projects you saved elsewhere.
Optional translation and cloud AI
When you explicitly use an online translation or AI provider, the text, prompt, timestamps, speaker context, and settings needed for that request are sent directly to the provider you selected. The provider processes that information under its own terms and privacy policy. PipScribe does not silently send local projects to cloud AI services.
Local AI services
Ollama and LM Studio can run on your computer or local network. PipScribe sends requests to the endpoint you configure. You are responsible for the endpoint, models, access controls, and any network exposure.
Video URL retrieval
When you submit a video URL, PipScribe or a retrieval component must contact the source website to obtain the media. The source may receive your IP address and normal request metadata. Retrieved media is then prepared for local transcription.
Licensing, downloads, and payments
License activation may process a license identifier, product and version information, device-derived activation data, timestamps, and basic network metadata. Download infrastructure may log standard request information. Payment providers process order, billing, and payment information; we do not receive full payment card details.
Support communications
If you contact support, we receive the information you provide, such as your email address, order reference, diagnostic details, and attachments. Do not send media or transcripts unless they are necessary and you are authorized to share them.
Retention, sharing, and security
We retain service and support records only as reasonably necessary for licensing, fraud prevention, support, accounting, and legal obligations. We do not sell personal information. We share limited information only with service providers needed to operate the website, deliver downloads, process payments, or provide support, or when required by law.
